AATG Play Reading: Youth Special
AATG Play Reading
Monday 12th June 2017
7:30pm – prepared pieces, no longer than 5 minutes
7:30 - 7:45pm – refreshments
7:45 - 8:30pm – Ernie’s Incredible Illucinations
After the success of last year's youth play reading, and the subsequent performance in the Warenar Theatre, this is a play reading evening especially for our youth members, but of course everyone is welcome to come along and join in the fun!
We plan to start the evening with a selection of prepared pieces. So if you have a poem, a short sketch, or a monologue you’d like to perform this is your chance! We’re open to whatever takes your fancy as long as it’s less than 5 minutes in length.
For the second part of the evening we will be continuing with this season’s theme of Alan Ayckbourn, and reading Ernie’s Incredible Illucinations. This is Aykbourn’s most enduring play for children and has been performed in schools and youth theatres all around the world for over forty years! Ernie’s incredible imagination is alarming his parents. They go to the doctor in search of a cure. Once they’re there, they discover Ernie’s ‘illucinations’ are more powerful than they realised. Everything Ernie imagines – from secret agents to a boxing granny – becomes real.
